Studies show that people who can connect with what inspires them raises their level of consciousness and/or satisfies their soul will live longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives. In addition, studies also show that if you add exercise to this equation the likelihood of you living an additional 10 years past your normal life expectancy has just quadrupled. I believe in combining both of these concepts for a one-two punch guarantee on living a longer more satisfying life. As a certified personal trainer, I will design an exercise program specificially around your goals and fitness needs. I don't just show you how to do an exercise; I educate you in proper exercise form, show you how to incorporate equipment that you might already have at home, and provide you with programs that are efficient in terms of time and effort so that you can get the results you are looking for in the least amount of time. Fitness Assessment
An important part of any responsible training program, a fitness assessment, objectively measures your current level of physical fitness. Without an effective fitness assessment, growth cannot be accurately measured. Shaping by Sherry's fitness assessment incorporates many different methods to achieve accurate results. My one hour fitness assessment measures:
* Resting Blood Pressure
* Resting Heart Rate
* Body Composition Testing - including BMI, Waist-to-Hip Ratio and Body Fat Analysis
* Cardiovascular Endurance
* Muscular Endurance
* Muscular Strength
* Flexibility Testing
Traditional Personal Training
If you have ever seen "The Biggest Loser" then you know what I am talking about. In my experience, it is the only way to truly re-shape your body. It combines both cardio and strength training (otherwise known as weight training) to work on heart and lung health as well as muscle strength and imbalances. I promise...you will not be mistaken for Arnold Schwarzenegger's sister! Women lack the necessary testosterone to make this possible. However, especially for women, weight training is crucial in the fight against osteoporosis, maintaining heart health, increasing muscle tone and burning those extra calories...even at rest! In fact, many say it is the secret to maintaining a more youthful appearance.
Yoga Inspried Classes
I offer Hatha Style yoga classes with time for meditation both before and after the Asansas (poses/postures) so that you have time to experience the true purpose of yoga...to "join together" the body, mind and spirit to create a better balanced life. Studies show that those who pratice yoga have lower blood pressure, increased flexibility and an improved immune system. Based on these findings, yogo is now being prescribed to cancer patients as well as those suffering from arthritis and other joint related issues.
Outdoor Walk/Run Programs
I love running outside. It is my "green time". As a busy mom, I sometimes never get to enjoy the day. I just recently discovered that this is the best de-stresser I can do for myself. I would love to show you how this could be incorporated into your life too. I am offering beginning walk/run programs to take advantage of the beautiful trails located in the Barrington area. There are two in particular that are my favorite...the new Citizen's Park trail which connects Cuba Marsh and the Lake Barrington Village trails. I will accompany you for the entire exercise. Walking outside is a great way to reconnect with the great outdoors and enjoy the day, not to mention burn some calories. If you are a runner, we can run together as well. I have programs that can help improve your time and distance goals. Bring the dog too!

Care for Your Spirit
I want to help you find and/or connect with your spiritual side by providing daily inspirations. After each workout session I will provide you with my "Wisdom for the Day". It will be from biblical books and studies that have been impactful in my life over the years. Hopefully, you will find them as life changing as I have and help you connect to your greater purpose.
On Call Personal Masseuse
As an extra service, I have partnered with a personal masseuse. If you would like to have a massage right after your workout, just let me know and I will make all of the arrangements. She offers therapeutic, deep tissue and sports massages.
All of my programs are offered on an individual basis or on a "Buddy Program" basis. Buddy Programs are a fun and easy way to stay motivated with a friend and save money at the same time.
Studies how that exercise is crucial for women to help maintain bone density, relieve stress, improve heart function, reduce those unwanted pounds as we age and lower overall cholesterol levels. I personally believe that exercise is the true secret to maintaining a more youthful appearance. For me, I know I feel more energetic, stronger and more confident in my everyday life through exercise.
